A very special retreat
Marthrown of Mabie is right in the heart of the forest, away from the hustle and bustle of the world - a uniquely rustic environment in a breathtaking setting, Although only a few miles from the region's capital town of Dumfries, Marthrown of Mabie is completely surrounded by forest and this makes the sounds of modern life disappear. Marthrown of Mabie is a great spot to relax and unwind, with a sauna and hot tub on site.
Choose how you stay...
There are various accommodations available on site from sleeping in a bunk house dorm, a bed in the Iron Age Round House, Tipis and yurts too.
If you would prefer you can also bring a tent and pitch it in the forest. There are limited space for caravans and campers too.
Facilities & Fun
Whilst the site is rustic it does have real loo's and showers!
There is also a wooden hot tub and a rustic wood-fired sauna too.
During the weekend we will be having sessions of live music, storytelling, poetry and more...
We will be running some rustic craft workshops, in addition there will be the usual fun and games you have come to expect from a BN Event.
The area where Marthrown of Mabie sits is famed for Mountain Biking and cycling - during the weekend we will organise some walks and cycles off site.
The team at Marthrown will be cooking throughout the weekend.
Nearer the time you will be emailed menus and be able to pre-book your food.
They are famed for their hog roasts and bbq's - cooked breakfasts and packed lunches will be available daily.
The estimated cost if you wanted every meal cooked for you would be around £35-£40 for the whole weekend. You are also welcome to bring your stove and eat baked beans to your hears content!
